A meeting can end with agreement and still leave management work open. Closure starts when the remaining work becomes explicit — and only finishes when the required evidence exists.

The three-minute close

  1. What management work remains open? Say the unresolved decision, dependency, expectation or follow-up plainly.
  2. Who owns the next action? One accountable owner, not “the team.”
  3. By when? A concrete due date or review date.
  4. What would prove closure? Define the condition that later evidence must satisfy.

Owner and date are necessary, but they are not the same as Closure Evidence. They define an action. Evidence later proves whether the required management work actually reached closure.

From meeting note to Management Loop

A meeting note or task can be Work Evidence. It may support a Possible Loop when admission rules are satisfied. A manager still has to confirm that the situation deserves management attention. That human gate is the boundary between “something was observed” and “this is management work.”

What Clio can prepare

Once the Loop is confirmed, Clio can select the Management Skill appropriate to the work and prepare a manager intervention. Work Mode can calibrate how the interaction is approached, but it cannot create the Loop or replace the closure requirement.

What to measure

Do not measure whether meetings “felt productive.” Measure confirmed work: candidate review latency, action completion, median time to close, verified closures and reopen rate. KPI movement is a separate business outcome.

If an item leaves the meeting with an owner and date but no closure requirement, you have an action. If it later has the required evidence, you have a closed Management Loop.

Where Clio fits

Clio connects the evidence around the meeting to the management work that still needs closure, keeps the human confirmation gate, prepares the intervention and maintains the state until Closure Evidence supports the outcome.

In short

Close the meeting by making the management work explicit. Close the Loop only when the evidence supports the required outcome.
